The Division of Victim Services would like to remind you that there are services available to help people deal with trauma events, like the devasation from Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, plus the events of September 11, 2001. Additionally, there are resources available that can provide you with information relating to the emotional reactions that result from tragedies. Following are toll-free numbers and Internet addresses for some resources. There may also be other useful resources.

The Employee Assistance Program can be reached, toll-free, at 800-922-5651, if counseling is needed.

The National Center for Victims of Crime (www.ncvc.org) has offered a toll-free telephone number for those seeking assistance and information. The toll-free number is 1-800-FYI-CALL.

Additionally, the National Organization for Victim Assistance (www.try-nova.org) also has a toll-free number that people can use to request information about how to deal with this terrifying situation. That toll-free number is 1-800-879-6682
